My Philosophy
I’ve enthusiastically devoted over 40 years of my life to music and massage. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise to help you enrich and empower your life and experiences and expand your own vision for what is possible.
MASSAGE: My personal and extensive experiences as an endurance athlete (including distance open water swimming, cycling, trail/road running, climbing, Swimrun/Otillo and Ironman) enables me to pinpoint issues and identify solutions to help re-establish healthy movement and balance for your body.
I specialize in corrective therapy, trigger point and specific origin to insertion muscle work and have extensive experience collaborating in chiropractic, hospital, and rehabilitations facility settings. I leverage proactive massage techniques to help you recover from and prevent injuries. I also enjoy supporting and teaching you to take ownership over your mind and body so you need fewer and fewer massage treatments over time.
MUSIC: I have effectively taught students of all different ages, levels, and learning styles over the years. I focus my instruction on violin/fiddle, guitar, and piano. I teach classical, bluegrass, and fiddle-style approaches on the violin and both rhythm and lead guitar techniques. You or your child will have the opportunity to select some of your own musical selections to inspire and motivate you to keep learning.
I promote self-discipline/motivation as life skills for younger students through the daily habit simplified for success through the practice of musical instruments. I help by breaking down the musical piece into smaller segments and helping my students set achievable goals to foster increased self-esteem and build confidence. With my approach, music is more than a lesson - it becomes a chance to teach real life skills. I view the process of learning a musical instrument as a therapeutic opportunity.
Massage Modalities
Each massage modality is customized and personalized to your individual needs. I am trained in : Swedish, hot stone, cupping, deep tissue, sports, ART, PNF, assisting stretching, kinesiology taping, specific origin to insertion muscle work, and fascial release. Massages are typically 60 minutes and can be up 120 minutes depending on your needs. ASHIATSU has been added to my modalities. It is slow, deep, broad and highly effective and uses the practitioner’s body weight and feet. This modality is also highly effective at lowering cortisol levels in the body

Music Lessons
You can choose violin, guitar, and/or piano lessons. For beginners, I suggest weekly 30-minute lessons. For intermediate students, weekly 45-minute lessons are appropriate. For advanced, weekly 60-minute lessons are necessary. Virtual lessons are available. I have found that a monthly tuition commitment that includes one lesson a week establishes easy growth and mastery. We choose a day and time that fits and that time is entirely devoted to your advancement. Payment is required to book a committed time slot.
